The Geology of Eureka Springs, Chapter 1, Introduction

>>Author’s note: This section of the website is organized as a web book, with 9 chapters organized as separate web pages. Together, they will provide a more-or-less continuous narrative describing all of the the exposed rock layer in and around Eureka Springs and how those layers fit into a broader geological context.<<

The walls of the valleys in and around Eureka Springs offer a wonderful perspective on nearly a half-billion years of geological history. This section of the website, constructed in the manner of a blog, will essentially be a booklet providing an introduction and overview of the various exposed geological layers in the town and their origins and context.
